  1. Wow.. i mean oliveira won against Gaethje, Poirier, Chandler, Ferguson, while Makhachev’s most notable win was against maybe Hooker? I know that dagestani wrestling is the best but damn…

  2. It’s an insanely tough matchup for both of them to be sure, and I like both of them enormously so I’m not picking based on favourites, but I would probably give the slight edge to Makachev, mainly because of Oliveira’s fight against Felder where he got held down and elbowed to death. Felder is decent but he’s not exactly known as some kind of elite wrestling phenom, certainly not anywhere near Islam’s level. So I feel like if Felder can do that to Charles so can Islam. BUT, that was ages ago, and a lot can change in that time. Either way, it’s easily one of the most exciting fights the UFC has put together in recent memory and I can’t wait to see it.

  3. I’m a bit shocked rbh.

Ofc Islam is a menace on the ground, but his standup is lacking and he hasn’t really faced many all round good fighters. I think Oliveira picks him apart and then submits him in the third

  4. Y’all watched Charles spend two rounds under Kevin Lee then see chandler sit in his guard comfortably and think hes gonna submit Islam? Stop the cap. Only way he’s winning is by KO

  5. Can someone explain why everyones so confident in Makachev and talking like theres not even a possibility that Oliveira wins? Genuinely want to know

  6. Islam gets hit less per fight than almost any fighter ever. And his top control is probably top ten in mma history.

For all the people picking Charles how exactly do you expect him to win? Just curious. Do you think Charles will stuff the takedowns and beat him up on the feet? Or do you see him submitting Islam?

  7. It’s very hard to doubt Oliveira after his last performances, but styles make fights. Makhachev is probably the most dangerous fight for him in the LW division

Still, I’m leaning towards Oliveira. 55/45 IMO

  8. So if Islam wins, how will the goalposts be moved? Been fun watching people hate on him for years with no valid reason. Even here you have people saying he’s too “green” for Oliveira…

  9. Islam has pedigree, but the strength of schedule between the two guys is not comparable. Charles last 5 opponents are all better than anyone Islam has ever fought (maybe it’s the last 4).

  10. Makhachev is without a doubt a future champ imo. So if im going to build a storyboard around that assumption, do i really think that Charles is the guy most likely to prevent that inevitability? No, I don’t think so.

  11. Islam is great but there is such a massive difference in the talent level of their opponents. I’m shocked that he’s over a 2 to 1 favorite. Can’t wait to watch the fight.

  12. Someone who’s more knowledgeable about wrestling vs BJJ, am I dumb for thinking that Oliveira’s submission game could actually deter Islam and turn it into a stand up fight. The man has the submission record for a reason, and Islam has never faced anyone with anywhere close the submission game as Charles.

  13. I truly don’t understand why MMA fans are so blind to the obvious. Its the same shit with people thinking Blaydes has a chance in hell against Aspinall. A lot of you are somehow oblivious to things that the rest of the world and casuals can see, but the die hards can’t.

Yes, Bronx has fought much stiffer competition. But did we need to see Islam wrestlefuck Dustin? Did we need to see him do the same to Justin? Chandler would have been interesting, but he’s far too wild to beat Islam. Islam is gonna run through Bronx like a finish line. I love Charles. His story is amazing. He’s beyond fun to watch. His run is ridiculous. He’s truly a HOF fighter.

He’s gonna get rag dolled. If we don’t see a stoppage, we’ll see some 10-8s. Islam is special. It’s painfully obvious. “Dagestani Wrestling” isn’t anything special in it’s own right. It’s just wrestling made for MMA. But ISLAM’s wrestling is special. His overall skill level is special. His stand up is MORE than acceptable for a championship level fighter, much like Khabib’s. Bronx isn’t just gonna piece him up, because everytime he throws a strike, he’s gonna be weary of being taken down. Yes, he’s dangerous from bottom. But he’s not “good” from bottom. Those are different things entirely. Islam will pound his face in, Bronx will do some slick shit to escape, Islam will adjust, and Bronx will put himself in even worse positions as a result.

Bronx only path to victory imo is flash KO/TKO. Islam isn’t gonna get caught on the ground. There won’t be a surprise choke. I think Islam by finish is the best bet.
