  1. Justin gets praised a lot for his leg kicks, but there’s a youtube compilation out there where he often gets countered whenever he throws them.
A lot of those counters get him rocked too.

  2. Justin has become pretty 1-dimensional. I feel like he’s one of those fighters who might get near the top, but will always fall short of winning the title.

  3. Its so funny to think that an elite leg kicker can get nullified by lifting your leg up and punching him in the face

Edit: nvm guys Justin actually sucks and anyone who knows how to throw a punch will easily just knock him out the first kick he tries to throw

  4. This fight really exposed Gaethje’s one-dimensional style. Without leg kicks connecting he was just winging and flailing with his punches.

Oliveira got tagged because of his recklessness, but he never seemed limited in his options even when it came to his striking.

  5. It’s so crazy how much he has grown as a fighter. I think back his fights early in his career like against Lamas and he is 10X the fighter he was then. Hope he stays champion for a while.

  6. What surprises me the most is that Charles hits so hard without even trying. Mc hit gaethje with some bombs and he didn’t fall down, even in his previous fights he took tremendous amount of shots but still didn’t easily fall. But one clean shot by Charles and he got knocked down, chandler too, took so many shots from gaethje but got knocked down in one shot by Charles.

  7. Man I wish Charles comes out like this against Islam. I remember this mf literally went HARD against Justin from the moment the match started.

  8. Oliveira is the fucking man. As brief as that fight was, he showed how to easily counter those leg kicks. He had him figured out immediately. Crazy how good his preparation was.

  9. I’m so happy that Charles ended up realizing his potential. I was so bummed for him around the time of his loss to max at 145. Its been something special seeing his career come together like this.

  10. I remember before the fight, people were going on about the leg kicks and how it would nullify Charles and with the weight miss Charles’ mind wasn’t going to be in the fight. Bell rings and Charles marches down and punches Justin right in the head and continues to walk him down.

  11. Man this was so satisfying after Gaethje running his mouth for over a year against Charles.

Gaethje is a good dude, hope he stays in contention and give us few more memorable highlights by fighting more strikers. I don’t want to see him Vs Arman, Gamrot, Islam etc atleast for now.

Him vs Fiziev would be fun.

  12. Gaethje only has his leg kicks besides his boxing. If you neutralize that, he can only swing wildly. Khabib really exposed Gaethje’s nonexistent ground game and Charles exposed his limited striking.

  13. Charles really seems to have put it all together, and like Volkanovski, just a nice dude that loves the sport of fighting and taking on all challengers. I hope he continues to reign for awhile. He’s a great dude, from an extremely humble beginning in his life, his story is amazing.

  14. Has Justin ever showed any decent ground game? From this fight and the Khabib fight he looks like absolute TRASH in that department, completely incapable of even some basic shit. Yes, I’m talking about two very high level grapplers but still… Even Conor did better vs Khabib

  15. Also collar ties. Check it out it actually pretty clever. He checks his kicks, shows the counter left hook, but really just uses it to grab a collar tie to help him land the right hand.

  16. Jesus, the hate boner on Gaethje in the MMA community is insane. He went from being the most punishing fighter to fight all the way to pathetic leg kicker, lmao.

He smashed up Dustin’s leg to the point where he had a partially torn quad but got caught on one late in the fight when he was tired.

Charles Oliveira presents a clinch striking game that nobody else at the top of the division has and it’s definitely not something Gaethje has seen before. Oliveira gameplanned to perfection and figured the kicks out by lifting his leg and taking Gaethje into a clinch every time.

Who knew that being beaten by Dustin and Oliveira, literally the two best lightweights, made you shit.
