Why does Arnold Allen battle yearly?

Man, after his most up-to-date efficiency towards Hooker, I wanna see him again within the octagon. his file, the one yr he fought extra (within the UFC) than as soon as was 2019 and even then he solely had two fights.

  1. He has a long history of hand issues. He mentioned on Bispings podcast recently that the UFC signed him knowing of his hand issues. So I assume he’s trying to prolong his career / affiliation with the UFC

  2. He’s only 28. Could have another possible decade in the sport. Makes sense not to fight frequently and burn yourself out at that age.

  3. Allen doesn’t have a great fight lined up, Volk is on ice until after Oliveira-Makhachev and Emmett and Y-Rod are going to likely fight one another for the #1 contender spot. I guess he could ask for Kattar or Holloway (but who knows if Holloway will stay at 145).

  4. He said on BYM podcast he has hand issues from the Sodiq win. I remember him saying on MMA hour earlier in the year that when he broke his hand, he didn’t get the correct treatment, which made it worst.

He also said on BYM that he will probably fight this year. It is rumoured that UFC want a UK November card, so maybe then?

  5. I have wondered this myself a number of times, he’s adamant about it and as a fan of his it’s frustrating. He believes it’s in his best interest and maybe it is, he’s relatively young and maybe its given him to time to grow and develop his game but I also feel it’s killed a lot of potential hype he could have had, after that quick demolishing of Dan 🙁 where he took no injuries, there’s absolutely no reason he shouldn’t be fighting on this London card.

  6. You gotta fight pussy style like Adesanya to consistently be fighting every 4-6 months for years. These guys are breaking their bodies down and the pay off just isnt worth it
