As the match was over Jones dropped him like a corpse and didn’t look back even once
Regardless what you feel about him this was one of the coldest moves I seen in the cage. The way he just let him go and dropped him like a sack of potatoes.
For sure one of the scariest men on the planet. THE scariest at some points
Instead of USADA they need to breakdown everything this guy was on at the time and make it industry standard.
1. Someone posts a picture of a controversial yet skilled athlete
2. The mandatory “You may not like him but you can’t deny how great he is” karma magnet.
3. The downvoted “I don’t care he still sucks” comment.
Sometimes I really do feel like we live in the Matrix, and every so often it’s bugs show.
UFC 140 was my first in person live MMA experience, and it was fucking insane. Before this Mir snapped big Nog’s arm, and Tito knocked out lil Nog, and Korean Zombie got his 7 second KO
Remember the days when Jon was active and finished fights? Seems like a lifetime ago. 2 finishes since 2013 (including the DC fight that turned into a no content) and 1 fight since 2019 which was over 2 years ago.
Still the most brutal finish I have seen in mma.
Lyoto noooo 😭
This was before he hit that pregnant lady I believe, and you might not believe it but before that all went down jon was legitimately viewed as a great guy. He supposedly ran down a guy who stole an old ladies purse to get it back for her the day he fought shogun for the title.
Looking at this now it’s like yeah Jon’s an asshole, but at the time everyone thought he was a saint, which made this even more polarizing.
Whenever Jon got in the crucifix position it was really something to behold, just cold calculated violence
This Jones was one scary motherfucker. He was vicious and relentless.
This is the coldest picture in mma!
Jon! Hey Jon Jones! Go check on Lyoto get some fans
He tried to feed the dragon a carrot
GOAT
Go get some fans Jon!!!
Getting fans
Back in the day when Jones was a savage in the cage instead of outside it.
Still one of the most baller moves, chokes out a legend and walks off like another day at the office… then goes a and does copious amounts of coke.
People often meme Jones nowadays, but this was peak Jones right here for me. Also, the first time I heard “go win some fans” and realized some fighters show fake respect. I was still in grade school, so definitely had a naive look at the sport
Coldest MMA picture of all time
I was at this UFC in Toronto. Such a wild card:
Hominick finished in 7 seconds by KZ
Mir snapping Nogueira’s arm
Jones subbing Lyoto
Was the first UFC event I’ve attended.
Cry all you want about him, still the baddest to ever do it
Jon Jones was a scary man
Back when Jones was choking out fighters and not his wife
Lyotos a legend and Jones just let him face plant after the choke
This was so brutal. Jon Jones is the meanest man I’ve ever seen. He seemed to enjoy every second of fights back in these days. When Vitor caught him in the armbar Jones was ready to pick up his ripped off arm and beat him with it, if thats what it took.
Prime Jones, that run was insane.
He was a bad, bad man. And whooped DC
Welcome to the Machida era
“I’m just a guy who totally got off”
Pretty much the tipping point in Jon Jones career.
One of the coldest finishes of all time
man is a savage. too bad he’s a POS outside the ring, he could’ve spent more time in the ring
Just another day at the office for the GOAT
Jones is the scariest fighter in combat sports. Mike Tyson is second.
I hate what he does outside of the cage but fuck man, even I have to admit this was brutal.
ref: bruh he dead 🗿
Can you guys believe this photo is 40 years old?
This is why Jones is so good at fighting. Dude has no empathy or compassion. Where most people will hesitate or stop themselves, he will just keep going and walk away not feeling any different.
Who’s the photo credit for this one? I seem to remember this being one of Esther Linn’s but I could be mistaken
It must be so frustrating to Jon to know that his best moves won’t ever be in a highlight reel.
The slick moves he used to escape after drinking and driving and hitting a pregnant lady. She went to the hospital with broken bones, but he just went home, as casually as he left Lyoto lying in the ring.
The intimidation he works on his girlfriend is some of the best ever done. Nobody is even close to his game. He can quote Bible verses, and flunk back to back drug tests, and still have the composure to shoot his gun in town while drunk, and then leave the woman that loves him bloody. After all this he will pretend it is some kind of test from God.
I am so glad that he and Dana White have to work together. They deserve each other.
