  1. Regardless what you feel about him this was one of the coldest moves I seen in the cage. The way he just let him go and dropped him like a sack of potatoes.

  2. 1. Someone posts a picture of a controversial yet skilled athlete
    2. The mandatory “You may not like him but you can’t deny how great he is” karma magnet.
    3. The downvoted “I don’t care he still sucks” comment.

Sometimes I really do feel like we live in the Matrix, and every so often it’s bugs show.

  3. UFC 140 was my first in person live MMA experience, and it was fucking insane. Before this Mir snapped big Nog’s arm, and Tito knocked out lil Nog, and Korean Zombie got his 7 second KO

  4. Remember the days when Jon was active and finished fights? Seems like a lifetime ago. 2 finishes since 2013 (including the DC fight that turned into a no content) and 1 fight since 2019 which was over 2 years ago.

  5. This was before he hit that pregnant lady I believe, and you might not believe it but before that all went down jon was legitimately viewed as a great guy. He supposedly ran down a guy who stole an old ladies purse to get it back for her the day he fought shogun for the title.

Looking at this now it’s like yeah Jon’s an asshole, but at the time everyone thought he was a saint, which made this even more polarizing.

  6. People often meme Jones nowadays, but this was peak Jones right here for me. Also, the first time I heard “go win some fans” and realized some fighters show fake respect. I was still in grade school, so definitely had a naive look at the sport

  7. I was at this UFC in Toronto. Such a wild card:

Hominick finished in 7 seconds by KZ
    Mir snapping Nogueira’s arm
    Jones subbing Lyoto

Was the first UFC event I’ve attended.

  8. This was so brutal. Jon Jones is the meanest man I’ve ever seen. He seemed to enjoy every second of fights back in these days. When Vitor caught him in the armbar Jones was ready to pick up his ripped off arm and beat him with it, if thats what it took.

  9. This is why Jones is so good at fighting. Dude has no empathy or compassion. Where most people will hesitate or stop themselves, he will just keep going and walk away not feeling any different.

  10. It must be so frustrating to Jon to know that his best moves won’t ever be in a highlight reel.

The slick moves he used to escape after drinking and driving and hitting a pregnant lady. She went to the hospital with broken bones, but he just went home, as casually as he left Lyoto lying in the ring.

The intimidation he works on his girlfriend is some of the best ever done. Nobody is even close to his game. He can quote Bible verses, and flunk back to back drug tests, and still have the composure to shoot his gun in town while drunk, and then leave the woman that loves him bloody. After all this he will pretend it is some kind of test from God.

I am so glad that he and Dana White have to work together. They deserve each other.
