  1. A few take aways:

The shot that dropped Stipe looked a little weirdly off balance but it was still a Ford Escort and it went straight through his chin

When Ngannou spun, took his back and shot his own TD before resetting I realized D1 Francis was gonna make me eat my words saying Stipe would beat him again

And also Stipe ate some fucking Nuclear shots this fight and hardly seemed to flinch. Kudos to both of them. I love this sport but this is the type of fight that makes me really never want to risk being on the losing side of a pro fight and happy to be on the couch lol

  2. Ngannou really is amazing. He’s an exciting power-puncher that got “figured out.” He had a fight where he clearly lost all his confidence. And after that, it’s clear he saw all of these problems and actually went out to fix it. He still has the same gameplan, but he has improved drastically in his weak spot, and unlike many others, he actually got off his ass after his losses and earned his rematch. Just awesome.

  3. Much like how Poirier’s salon quality hair greatly improved his fighting skills, Stipe’s barber cutting him like Cletus the Hillbilly did the opposite.

  4. I’ll say it, I fully expect Gane to win, but I think people are still talking about Francis like he’s still lacks any real technicality. It is fair to say I think many are underestimating him. This definitely won’t look like Gane vs Lewis and I think Gane is smart enough to know that.

  5. It kinda looked like Ngannou was making the same wrestling mistakes initially then remembered to push the head to defend the TD. When he stuffed the TD and spun around, everybody knew it was over.

His head kick was so slow and Stipe partially blocked it, but It still screamed power. Not sure if anybody else’s chin could have taken that.

  6. Dana fucking sucks for not getting Ngannou in the cage sooner. Pay the man so we can watch him blast contenders into space already! Feels like he won the title a lifetime ago

  7. Seeing the Embedded footage of Usman going over stuffing the head instead of going for the guillotine, then seeing the exact scenario play out was pretty cool. He went for it, corrected, and that was such a tide-turning moment. I want to see a third fight, when the time is right.

  8. Ngannou seems to get overeager to throw punches. Literally ever opportunity he went ham often relying on strength. But props to him he showed more patience and a willingness to pick his shots in this fight. The fight against Gane is facinating for the same reason.

  9. Definitely do not miss the arguments that this rematch sparked on this sub, every thread related to either Stipe or Francis before this fight would be flooded with brainlets bickering.

  10. I feel like Stipe landing that one shot that seemed to stun Francis was the worst thing that could have happened. Felt like he had a chance to recover but landed that shot and jumped back in to follow up and…..lights out.

  11. Have we herd stipe speak after this? I really wouldn’t be suprise if some of those shots he ate completely cured his stipenese. Wouldnt be suprised if one shot set him back to completely articulate proper English but a follow up gave him a whole proper English accent

  12. Most satisfying fight ever. For 3 years we had to put up with all those fucking morons who said Ngannou hadn’t improved and was the exact same fighter he was when he fought Stipe the first time so therefore he didn’t deserve the rematch. Then the rematch actually happened and we saw what took place.

  13. Am I the only one that thought Stipe looked out of place? It just seemed like he wasn’t the same fight we saw against Cormier. I wonder if there was too much time of just focusing on DC over the past few years and then he wasn’t ready for a bigger, taller fighter like Ngannou?

And once that single leg failed he just looked defeated.
