  1. Good for him. No shame in losing to Jan. I think this is great for Izzy and the fans in general! Being undefeated is great, but coming back from a loss even better than before is far more impressive, but that’s just my opinion.

  2. Izzy ate some good shots there… he can definitely trade blows with the heavier guys but the size difference becomes clearer once they grapple. Jones would have given him real problems.

  3. Izzy’s always been cool making fun of himself after some of his fights. I remember him making a post about how ugly Gastelum made him, and another one about how boring the Romero fight was after those fights.

  4. Obviously he didn’t take the worst strikes Jan could’ve delivered, but I was surprised with how well he took what did land. He got stung a few times and he may have wobbled one during that fight. I knew his toughness was underrated given the Gastelum fight but that was very impressive.

  5. I’m not worried at all for Izzy. Dude is mentally strong and still a superstar. He watches too much anime to know not to be humble in defeat. He will treat this loss like it was an arc in his series

  6. Something tells me that the loss does sting to him and Eugene by their body language and eyes more than he’s letting on, but the whole way in which he has conducted himself, before, during and after the fight has been nothing short of a Champion’s mentality. Hope his next fight is a return to dominance.

…Unless it’s against Whittaker, he’s really hard to root against on account of being a solid guy. That will be another one where I won’t want either to lose.

  7. You gotta remember that Izzy was a kickboxer before this and has had losses so it’s not the first time he has experienced this. I honestly thought that he would be such a sore loser but he wasn’t and in the interview he gave afterwards he talked about how he was lacking and how it was skill that made the final difference and if that isn’t the way to handle a loss then i don’t know what is.

  8. good to see Izzy taking the loss well

super happy for Jan though, seems like such decent dude, he deserved and hope someone in his family won a good bit of money betting on him!!!

  9. I know Izzy is trying to not lose face by memeing himself, but don’t let this distract you from the fact that THE LEGENDARY POLISH POWER RODE INTO LAGOS AND AUCKLAND ON HORSEBACK AND KILLED ANYBODY NOT FIT TO WALK.

  10. Its all that dead man’s rope that brings him luck. He found it around time when he gpt on his winning streak too. Makes me think, should I go find a hanged body somewhere too?

  11. Izzy aint afraid to lose thats for certain. Calling out Yoel Romero for no reason and going up 20 pounds in weight aint the actions of a man who is being cautions trying to avoid a loss.

  12. All respect to Jan but Izzy is the man. He made the biggest weight class leap to challenge the title holder with his same physical frame. Anderson Silva made the leap but didn’t challenge the belt holder. Jon Jones is talking shit but he’s not challenging for the HW title until he has a HW frame.
