  1. I’m not a fan of interim titles especially this one, I mean that would be 8 months between defenses. No way is that worthy of an interim title, but O’Malley once again proves how business savvy he is. Dana is salivating over this without a doubt. Any MMA fan is dying for that fight, throw a strap on it for the casuals and my god that Perth card will sell a ton. Volk going for a second belt against yet another Dagestani monster, and Chito/Sugar for Interim gold. Feels like two monster fights that almost certainly guarantee fireworks. Clearly I’m
    Buying lol

  2. It shouldn’t be an interim, but I’d take it purely because I’m a chito fan, and I’d want a guaranteed 5 rounds.

Chito’s chances of winning go way up the more rounds there are. 3 would be tough….

  3. The Omalley V vera second fight is such a natural story.

A high flying prospect takes a L to another more underrated prospect, both men continue to evolve their game & climb the ladders till both have valid cases for a title fight. Possibility for revenge or repeat.

It’s such a easy fight narrative & a good fight too as both men generally have entertaining fights.

  4. Oh hell yeah, run that shit back. Chito is my favorite BW and Sean is as entertaining as they come. So far Chito has had a chin of steel and a great high guard, but the high guard is what a lot of people identified as what made Yan lose on the cards against Sean.

If I had to take a guess, it’ll be either late KO/TKO for Chito or Suga winning a UD.

  5. I know people dislike interim titles since they’ve essentially become meaningless in the grand scheme of things – but I’m not opposed to them considering fighters get more money as a result.

Considering how atrocious fighter pay is – securing the bag should always be the priority for fighters – even if it’s fighting for something like an interim title.

  6. as much as I don’t think Sean beat petr the numbers are the numbers. It’s a perfect call since it will silence the doubters if he wins and because as it stands now, both sean and chito can argue for a title shot pretty easily so it answers that question.

plus they have both improved a ton and I would love to see the rematch. hope it’s 5 rounds

  7. The UFC making an interim title because a champ won’t start a camp for six months after a title fight remains idiotic as fuck. You fucking have 11 other divisions. Figure it out. And if you need title fights that bad, give us the 165 division we’ve all been asking for the past 10 years.

  8. I ain’t the biggest Suga fan, but mad respect for looking to stay active, especially after his war with Petr. Meanwhile the champ looking to take a so called well deserved time off after being gifted a defense vs TJ.

Yeah, yeah, I know, it’s about the camp, not the fight bla bla. Fact is every fighter has extremely tough camps, yet most are still looking to fight twice a year.

  9. Unpopular opinion but I like fights more when they’re for in interim title. Having the #1 contender fight have a guaranteed ( except Tony) title fight is more meaningful to me then , “hey, this could be a title shot maybe, no guarantees”. The speculation and debates about who deserves the shot can be annoying .

  10. I dont trust anyone who makes excuses for the first Chito vs O Malley fight. Mfs talking about luck and flukes like Chito isn’t a brilliant kicker and fighter

O malley wants revenge and I’m glad he’s calling out chito again
