  3. I don’t know why Figgy would choose to fight KKF over Moreno, if he thinks he is the best. You get PPV points for being champion and I bet Moreno is a drawl for Mexicans and also for Mexicans in Las Vegas for the gate. Few people outside hardcores and maybe others more from NZ know KKF.

    Maybe Figgy is playing MMA math; Moreno already beat KKF.

  6. I mean it might just be semantics, but I feel like he’s trying to say Figgy is going for an easier fight, not that he’s scared of the tougher fight.

    If you were offered a fight against someone your weight and strength and skill level for a million dollars. Or you could fight someone significantly smaller and weaker and worse at fighting for a million dollars, why would you take the harder fight?

    He literally said “he’s going for KKF because he’s easier” (which is all but objectively true) not “he’s scared of me”.

    Like I get that nuanced language isn’t necessarily most combat sports’ fans forte but it really helps in understanding things.

  8. I would rather see Figgy v Kai purely because the division needs eyes on other contenders. Let Moreno fight 2-3 other contenders, bring attention and eyes to them. That’s how the divisions publicity grows.

  9. I’d like to see it a fourth time, and figgy has to know that at age 34 his time at the top is short. When/if they fight again moreno wins for sure. That’s why he wants kai instead.

    Edit: y’all underestimated my boy he’s got some momentum going, he was cool as a cucumber under all those choke attempts last weekend and his TDD is something like 86%, and he’s got heavy hands. We’ll see, I know he’ll make it a war at least. Lotta pressure tho cause if volk holds his title, kai will make 3 champs at CKB and that would be a big achievement.

  16. The FLW division has been held up for a while but this i a bad look for Fig and kind of a dick move. Ive already said it on here in replies but Moreno had 0 obligation as far as we know to give Fig an immediate rematch and did. Now hes not doing the same? Whether hes dodging or not it looks like hes.

  21. I thought Figgy won the first. So I personally have Figgy 2-0 over Moreno. I’d rather he fight a new contender like Kai.

  22. 1) It’s insane to me that people think Fig is scared after fighting Moreno 3 times.

    2) Who actually wants to see this fight for a fourth time?

    Make the fresh matchup with KKF and have Moreno fight Pantoja for an immediate title contender.

  25. Racism is obviously a sensitive subject so apologies in advance if this comes off uninformed:

    Is it really racist? I always thought the whole “monkey” thing was an old racist trope aimed at people of African decent, which Figueredo doesn’t seem to be. He’s Brazilian, is monkey a racist term used towards Brazilian people? Or is monkey now just racist no matter who it’s aimed at?

    Also being labeled a racist is pretty big thing, especially these days, so I think it’s a real asshole move for Figueredo to make statements calling Moreno racist, for something that somebody else did, which I don’t think even is racist, and definitely doesn’t seem to be intended as such.

    And whther it’s racist or not, Moreno didn’t do it. He’s not responsible for his ex-teammates dumb Instagram videos. And now people who’ve only seen one side of the story are gonna think he is racist.

  29. Honestly fighting for the 4th time is ridiculous. Let him fight someone else. It’s holding up the division which is an exciting division. Let some other fighters get the shine.

  30. Someone who’s already fought you three times in a row, isn’t running. I’d rather see a fresh matchup, not a fourth consecutive fight between the same guys.
