  1. Note that I only noticed today:

3:07 at the clock Francis’ left leg is tripping/off-balancing Stipe along with the angle change brings him down (probably some discombobulation from Francis fisting Stipe’s head too)

  2. And right at that point, I knew Stipe was fucked. It was a hard watch as a fan of Stipe. I can’t say I was surprised because I had a bad feeling leading up to the fight about the weight disparity. You simply can’t give up 35-40lbs. Ngannou looked an entire weight class bigger than Stipe.

  3. Stipe going in 30 pounds lighter than Ngannou (after being 17 pounds lighter the fist fight) still to this day surprises me. if anything he should have gone in at like 250+. (Ino easier said than done lol) I hope Francis keeps the title so we get another Motivated Stipe trilogy, win or lose

  4. I still don’t get who advised him to come that light to that fight. Cardio is good and all but you need to be able to takendown that meat mointain in front of you first

  5. Is sprawling really that complicated of a wrestling technique for most fighters? I thought it’s like introductory takedown defense, especially if you’re a pro. Are you guys telling me Ngannou was such a beast with knockout power that he got this far with like zero wrestling takedown defense? It’s just funny because we react to this sprawl like it’s one of DC’s fancy lat drop takedowns.

  6. Gane will spam the Low kicks at NGANNOU.

Francis is probably the only MMA fighter still fighting right now that I would be willing to wager he would beat anyone on the UFC roster when he is focused.

  7. I could not believe the evolution i witnessed from him in this fight. He didn’t display any of this well-roundedness in the fights leading up to the rematch he just smashed dudes. To me the “oh shit” moment was the 1st leg kick he threw, knew Stipe was in trouble at that moment.

  8. Seeing this fucker sprawl, and then move that goddamn quick to take the back blew my mind. Man looked like he’d wrestled his whole life. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see him lose to Gane, invest more time in even better training, and get revenge in a couple years. So fluid.

  9. Pick your worst place to be at in history: the Battle at Canne – Getting off a boat on D-Day – Standing atop a World Trade Center building as it’s burning – OR being fucking Stipe in that moment. Holy shit that looks horrifying.

  10. I knew he was going to win the rematch after seeing him tell this epic story of emigrating illegally from Cameroon to France on Rogan’s podcast.

He could have died so many times, but didn’t and learned so many new skills quickly to pass each obstacle, until made it. Gave me an in sight into his mentality, but him stuffing this take down semented it for me, as it was like well what else was stipe got for him? That was Stipe’s best hope.

Following the podcast I was so confident this man would learn from all the mistakes in thy first fight and make the adjustments to best Stipe, thay I bet on Ngannou against a friend. Easiest money I’ve ever made in my life.

Forget Stipe, Ngannou has the True immigrant mentality #JoeyDiaz lol

    K’+

  11. This is why I don’t understand yall sleeping on this man vs gane. All of the little hypothetical “what ifs” people are saying about him are getting answered. What if this guy learned how to wrestle? oh, well he’d fuck up the heavyweight GOAT stipe Miocic, is what would happen. What if he developed a more sophisticated striking style to complement his heavy hands? Well, he’d knock the fuck out of paper champ Cyril Figgis, that’s what.

  12. Hot Take: Stipe can absolutely beat Francis in a stand up fight. He shouldn’t/wouldn’t be the favorite by a long shot, but his defense and counter striking could cause Francis problems. He caught Francis good in this fight, but was too reckless in following up. I think Gane and Stipe are both entirely capable of beating Francis.

  13. If you follow all the UFC videos leading to the fight and following Stipe’s camp you’ll see how confident the entire camp was. He was barely striking on his camp or very lightly. All was aimed to do the exact same thing than in the previous fight.

I dunno why they didn’t expect Ngannou to prepare for the most obvious plan they had.
