  1. Holy shit that was fucking brutal.

That was like playing a fighting game for the first time and just button-mashing everything until something works.

  2. Absolutely crazy fight, Diego had some real cool fights like this one, Diaz one (had some cool grappling moments IIRC) and the one against Karo Parisyan (fun fight, great scrambles and Diego knocked off a tooth of Karo with a knee from the clinch too). Sorry about the audio, I was supposed to include it but I fucked up

  3. This is crazy, you really sort of forget how much more brawling it was than today, not always a bad thing but it does take you by surprise sometimes

  4. This is the fight that got me into MMA. They always talk about Griffin-Bonnar and how people were changing the channel to see the fight. This was that fight for me. I was just flipping through the channels and see this absolute brawl and was hooked

  5. Can someone post the Joe Riggs flying knee. Can’t find it for my life. Diego was 18-0 when that knee landed and was a huge prospect

  6. One of those fights that will stay with you for a lifetime. Which makes it all the more sad if you see the state Sanchez is in now. The fighting game has really done a number on him. I wish this game had left him healthier and richer than he is now. Guida on the other hand is still the same, just a bit older.

  7. This is still one of my very favourite fights ever. This fight happened as I was getting into the sport. I think this fight may be one of the “core” fights that made me the fan I am today.

Makes me sad that this fight gets forgotten about but I guess that’s what a decade does.

  8. Absolute peak Diego. I remember watching the very first UFC when I was in the military waaaay back in the day. But it was Diego and TUF that got me back into it in a big way. He was probably never going to be a champion, but man was he good for a fun fight.
